About Beth Lewis, LMHC:

Beth Lewis is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Florida Board Certified Clinical Supervisor (MH6890) for registered interns; with over 18 years’ experience providing high quality, evidence-based counseling for adults, couples, families and children of all ages. She began her private practice in 2000 while concurrently gaining expertise in multiple types and levels of mental health service.  Beth received her Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University’s graduate program for Mental Health Counselors in 1997. She completed her internship with The Center for Rational Living, Inc., Tampa Bay’s leading Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) treatment center. In 2000, Beth earned her primary certificate in the clinical application of REBT from the Albert Ellis Institute, world renowned psychotherapy institute and home of Albert Ellis, Ph.D., REBT author. (www.rebt.org)

Beth’s training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) began in 2009 while managing a children and family outpatient mental health care program at PEMHS, Inc., Pinellas County, Florida.  She went on to successfully implement a fully adherent and highly effective DBT program for adolescents, pre-teens and their family members. She hosted and participated in a rigorous and extensive DBT training provided by Nancy S. Gordon, LCSW (www.tbcforcbt.org), a Behavioral Tech (www.behavioraltech.org) intensively trained DBT provider and consultant. Beth continually pursues additional DBT training and consultation for the purpose of ensuring her knowledge and practice of DBT remains congruent with the most current research findings. Beth participated and continues to participate in online DBT training and DBT research projects through Behavioral Tech, LLC, the founding DBT institute and home to Dr. Marsha Linehan, DBT developer. She attends DBT consultation team meetings with other Tampa Bay DBT therapists as part of her ongoing efforts to remain dedicated to the DBT model.  Beth regularly implements DBT treatment in her private practice, where she now effectively treats clients suffering from a large range of serious emotional, behavioral and quality-of-life problems.

Beth is an experienced trainer and clinical supervisor for Master’s level therapists and registered mental health counseling interns, in both group and individual settings.  Beth is dedicated to providing highly effective, evidence-based clinical treatment for her clients.
